Bio

Sam Wilson is an award-winning classical guitarist based in Portland, ME. In 2026, Sam received a Master of Music in Guitar Performance from The Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University, where he served as a graduate assistant to renowned guitarist, pedagogue, and composer Dr. Andrew Zohn. Following a move to Portland in May of 2026, Sam is establishing himself in New England while performing and teaching throughout Maine. Driven by the belief that music belongs to everyone, Sam is a classical guitarist dedicated to expanding access to the instrument and breaking down the barriers surrounding classical music. Rejecting the notion that the genre is reserved solely for traditional concert halls, Sam creates unorthodox performance experiences designed to reach diverse communities, from local public spaces and community hubs to non-traditional venues. Grounded in the conviction that anyone—regardless of background or prior experience—can connect with and enjoy the guitar, Sam fuses artistic excellence with direct audience engagement, welcoming new listeners and reimagining what a classical music experience can be.
